Fundraising
CHET is a charity which aims to provide bursary assistance to children who otherwise would not be able to afford such a valuable educational experience. Here at CHET we work very hard to sustain our Bursary Fund. We host a number of fundraising activities throughout the year:
- Annual Art Fair
- Sunday Concert Series
- Monthly Coffee Morning
- Outdoor Play
- Carol Concert
- Open Garden Day in association with NGS and Crosby Hall

CHETFriends
If, like us, you believe that children should develop independence, survival skills, self-esteem, then why don’t you join us in our work and become a CHET Friend?
We have just over 200 CHETFriends at the moment. They each subscribe a sum of money to a special Bursary Fund which is used to offer financial assistance to those children who would not be able to come to CHET without such help. These children are given a 50% reduction of the cost of a visit ~ this 50% is paid for by the bursary fund.
CHET Friends are essential to the life and aims of what we do – Join us and make a difference!
How do I join?
It’s very simple ~ just fill out a covenant form [active link] and return it to us. We’ll do the rest!
How much does it cost?
Just £96 per year or £8 per month. This is the standard amount. You can of course covenant more if you wish! Covenants run indefinitely but they may be cancelled after four years should you wish to do so. A letter to your bank is all that’s required.
What’s in it for me?
Apart from the joy of knowing that children are developing through outdoor learning and fun activities, about four times a year you will receive a copy of the CHETFriend newsletter. There is also an invitation each year to the special free CHET Friend event, usually a buffet dinner with entertainment and (very short!) speeches.
We are also looking for volunteers who would like to help with what we do – helping with activities, stewarding at events, administration – if you have time and talent we want to hear from you.
Becoming a CHET Friend and supporting our charity means that all our money raised goes directly towards helping children. There are no administrative or other costs involved at all.
Corporate CHET Friends
Companies and businesses can be CHET Friends too ~ just fill out the CHET Friend Form [active link] and send it to us, or contact our Principal for a chat.
