Accommodation

The Centre buildings consist of the Great Barn which seats up to 80 guests with a low stage at one end; a large Lounge adjoining and a Dining Room and fully equipped kitchen along a short corridor. The Dining Room can seat 50 guests but is usually used for serving an evening buffet. The Centre has brown dining chairs and rectangular tables for your use but round tables and matching chairs can be hired instead. For dancing later, dining furniture can be moved. The cobbled courtyard outside the Centre is also available for your use but all other areas are private grounds. As well as hiring tables and chairs you are free to decorate the rooms as you wish with flowers, balloons etc.

Bookings are only ever taken singly so that the whole of the Centre is for your own use during your stay. When inviting guests for the evening, the total number in the buildings must not, due to our fire regulations, exceed 120.

The Centre is a no-smoking area and guests who wish to smoke must do so out of doors.

For overnight guests the Centre has 14 bedrooms on two floors with bunk beds and washbasins in each ~ three rooms have two bunks, one room has six and the remainder have four. There are separate toilet/shower rooms on each floor and a bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a toilet/shower room suitable for disabled guests. Please note that towels are not provided.

Hire Dates & Times

The whole of the Centre is available to you from early evening on Friday afternoon until mid-day on Sunday enabling your caterers, florists et al., time to make their preparations beforehand and for clearing up afterwards.

A member of CHET staff will be on duty during most of your stay to help with any problems or queries.

Catering

Catering arrangements are made by the hirers who, except in exceptional circumstances, must use the Centre’s recommended caterers who are of excellent quality and value.

The Centre reserves the right to veto any caterer not on its recommended list.

If there are to be overnight guests, don’t forget to provide them with some breakfast!

If you are hiring a mobile bar, the bar must close at 11.30pm. and late licences are not permitted.  The bar should be set up in the foyer which has a stone floor and good access to the kitchen and power points etc.

Music

Any sort of live music is acceptable in the Centre, however, if you would like a disco, it may only be one recommended by the Centre. Music must finish at midnight when a member of CHET staff will ensure that the Great Barn is locked. This is in deference to our neighbours living next door to the Hall. Guests are of course free to use all the other rooms after this time. We ask guests who are not staying overnight to leave by 12.45am. Overnight guests are asked to respect the peace and quiet of the occupants of the cottages in the vicinity of the Centre.

Cleaning

A returnable cleaning/household deposit of £500 is required before the date of your booking. This deposit will be returned if the Centre is left in a condition which satisfies the Centre’s management. If, however, there is damage or mess all or part of the deposit will be forfeited.

Please note that a condition of the return of all or part of the deposit is that:
ALL RUBBISH AND BOTTLES ARE REMOVED FROM THE CENTRE.
